Hi Anna et al!

Thank you Anna for allowing us to participate in this conversation! It struck me while reading your comments on Mastery how I've tended to be a "jack of all trades" instead of "Mastering" something. The plight of the ordinary - content with mediocrity. How fortunate now that I've found coaching - not that I've "mastered" anything, yet, but now the door is open and my world of possibility is so much wider!

Anna,
Thank you for this forum and for the sensitive interview with Phil Karl. I think Phil is right that to communicate most effectively we must first create a deep and profound friendship with ourselves and recognise our basic goodness as human beings.

Perhaps only to the degree that we can relax to ourselves and to the world as it is can we be of benefit to others. Then we can have a joyful curiosity about the whole thing, recognize the perfection more easily and elicit greatness in others. I realize I have plenty to work on here when i contemplate my response to certain political figures and situations!

What attracted me to CV was TL's proficiencies so many of which seem closely related to Buddhist principles that I was aspiring to. The brilliance of the proficiencies is, as you said, that they were all expressed in secular terms. Tom Stone's Core Dynamics work is also contributing another piece to this rich spiritual stew without the outward trappings of any religion. IMHO To be advanced communicators we have to continue to find ways to reach everyone where they are without spiritual terms or hierarchies like POD that might get in the way. Refering to ourselves as "forward thinkers" and "advanced communicators" (though I REALLY like being considered part of such a select group) perhaps elevates and separates us from those we may wish to connect with the most. I think mastering advanced communicating may be different than being id'ed as an advanced communicator, maybe I made up that label myself. I think I am going to go to bed before I unskillfully communicate anything more.
Warmest regards,
Sali

Who wrote that long winded, conversation stopping piece anyway? Opps, it was me, sorry.
